Submission Instructions

  • ■ Abstracts may only be submitted via Internet!
    ■ Abstracts must be written in English and structured according to four categories: "Backround, Methods,Results and Conclusion".
    ■ Abstracts should contain original material only, which has not been published elsewhere!
    ■ Methods and Results must contain original data and the Conclusions must be clearly expressed.
    ■ Abstracts received after the given deadline will not be reviewed!
    ■ "Platform preferred" implies that your abstract will be considered for the platform programme primarily, but also for poster presentation.
    ■ "Poster preferred" implies that your abstract will be considered for poster presentation only.
    ■ Oral Sessions: Platform presentations last eight minutes followed by two minutes discussion.
    ■ Poster Sessions: Posters will be displayed in two sessions and authors must be available for discussion during the poster sessions.
    ■ Only abstract submissions confirmed by an AID (Abstract Identification Number) will enter the review process ! Please make sure prior to the deadline of submission you'd receive an AID for each submitted abstract. (Deadline: 17 January 2010)
    ■ Late entries (after January 17, 2010) will only be possible for "Ongoing Trials"

Contact Information

In order to submit abstracts online e-mail addresses from the corresponding  submitting person and the presenting author are obligatory. Correspondence includes all notification e-mails that inform the "Corresponding Submitting Person/Author" and the "Presenting Author" of the status of their abstract. This is the best way for us to contact you, so it is important that you enter your e-mail address accurately!
Please inform us about any changes immediately!
 

Preparation

Open the online submission form and follow the fields carefully.
Obligatory information is indicated by stars and coloured in red.
Abstract title and text must be structured and can be as follows: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion or Discussion.
Use your text editor directly on the form or copy and paste your text from your text editor.
Space indicated by means of US/West European script language. Number of authors is limited (15) as are references to institutions/departments.
The abstract title size is max.200 characters/signs, including blanks
The abstract text size is max. 2000 characters/signs, including blanks (Everytime you press a buttom on your keybord it will be counted)
Tables and graphics/figures are to be submitted separately after successful abstract submission.
Avoid complex mathematical formulae. For the plus minus symbols, type +/- instead of ± Avoid Greek letters and symbols, e.g. 'IFN-g' or 'IFN-gamma'.
When preparing your abstract, bear in mind that it will not only be read by experts in the field but also by colleagues who may not be familiar with the topic.
Please make sure that your abstract is in an accurate form because it will be published exactly as submitted and reviewed!
Changes after submission are only possible until the deadline 17th January 2010! Please contact: hennerici@eurostroke.eu We need the AID and password!

 


All abstracts will be published in "Cerebrovascular Diseases" except those submitted to "Ongoing Trials" .
Submission and acceptance implies copyright transform to Karger Pub., Basel Switzerland.

Confirmation

Please check your data carefully before submission!
After sending your material the confirmation and AID website will open.
Fill in your last name, e-mail and password (Submitting Person) exactly as you did before and press "Confirmation and AID" to receive your AID including your submitted data. For corrections please  contact Marion Hennerici, hennerici@eurostroke.eu!

NEW!: PRESENT and PUBLISH at the ESC and The Lancet simultaneously

 

In a mutual cooperation, authors of abstracts submitted to the  ESC  are invited to submit  a full paper for consideration by The Lancet  http://ees.elsevier.com/thelancet or The Lancet Neurology http://ees.elsevier.com/thelancetneurology, provided the abstract has been
accepted with high ranks for oral presentation by the Scientific Committee in the anonymous review process.  
Randomised controlled
 trials are of particular interest, but
any other high-quality original research papers will also be considered for publication. Papers that are accepted for publication by either journal  may be published online first to coincide with presentation at the conference. The deadline for submission of the full paper to the Lancet journals is April 2, 2010.
